The following text sets out the procedures regulating the administration of the site and also, in accordance with article 13 of Italy’s Personal Data Protection Code (as embodied in legislative decree 196 dated 30th June 2003), the terms and conditions for the use of personal information acquired through the site of AMSA–Azienda Milanese Servizi Ambientali S.p.A. These terms and conditions do not apply to other sites that may be consulted by the user through links.
Purpose of the use and types of data controlled
AMSA S.p.A., hereafter also referred to as the ‘data controller’, holds personal information for the purpose of managing and providing environmental services (integrated disposal of differentiated, bulky and special waste material), of drawing up contracts, of complying with contractual obligations and of performing all those activities necessary for or useful in the constant improvement of the service provided.
Web use data is acquired by computer systems and software procedures which regulate the functioning of this site. This data is not collected with the aim of identifying the user but for the sole purposes of acquiring anonymous statistical information related to the use of the site and of monitoring the site’s correct functioning. Such data includes IP addresses or the domain names of computers utilized by those accessing the site, the time of the access, the method used to send the request to the server, the numerical code indicating the status of the response given by the server (received, error, etc.) and other parameters concerning the operating system and the browser utilized by the user.
This data may be used by the appropriate authorities to ascertain responsibility in the event of illicit online activities against the site.
Data provided voluntarily by users through menus on the site is used for the sole purpose of providing the service requested (for example, lodging a complaint, reporting a problem, making an enquiry, signing up for a specific service such as the collection of bulky waste); the data provided (e-mail, telephone number, address), with the consent of the user, may be used by the data controller to inform and update the user on the services offered and to notify the user about public information campaigns and other initiatives.
The sending, optional and voluntary, of e-mail messages to addresses indicated in the site entails the acquisition of the e-mail address of the sender, needed in order to respond to the enquiry, and also any other data contained in the message.
Cookies are small fragments of text sent by a website to a browser and then retransmitted by the browser – without any modification – each time that the user accesses the site. Cookies cannot be utilized to contact the user or to extract information from the user’s computer. Moreover, cookies cannot contain viruses.
The data controller utilizes cookies in order to obtain information on previous visits by the user to the same website.
Data relating to the browsing of the site can be used for the purposes of research or in order to improve the website itself. Such data is used collectively and does not include any information that allows identification of the user.

Password and user security

By following instructions given by the service, the user can, at any time, change their password.

Moreover, the user has full responsibility for their activities in the sphere of the services provided and is required to immediately inform the data controller in the event of any unauthorized use by third parties of personal log-in details or of any other violation of security of which they become aware.

The pages of this website may contain hypertext connections (links) to other sites, indicated with the aim of offering users a better service. The data controller can in no way be held liable for the content of any site accessed by users by means of these links.
The existence of a link to another site does not imply any approval or acceptance of liability by the data controller for the content of this site or for the policy adopted by the linked site in relation to the use of personal information.
Data processing methods
Data is controlled with the help of electronic devices and, in some case, printed material. In order to prevent the accidental destruction or loss of data and to ensure that there is no unauthorized access to or distribution of data, technical and organizational measures have been implemented.
Data is held for the time strictly required to attain the purposes for which it was collected and in full accordance with all related legal requirements.
Provision of data and consequences of refusal
All data gathered in the sphere of the provision of environmental services is strictly required for the attainment of the purposes indicated above and the performance of related activities (such as invoicing, credit recovery, accounting and administrative procedures). The acquisition of data needed to identify the customer and the location at which the service must be carried out is of a compulsory nature in accordance with current regulations. The provision of personal contact details (telephone, e-mail) is necessary to ensure the best possible administration of dealings between the customer and AMSA S.p.A. The failure to acquire the data requested makes it impossible to provide the service.
All of the data acquired in the sphere of the present access is strictly related to the computerized operation of the site.
The provision of personal information is voluntary but, without the information indicated as obligatory, it is impossible to proceed with the request.
Data control and system administrators – communication and transmission of data
Data control related to the web services of this site is performed at the offices of A2A Group while that relevant to the dedicated suppliers portal (Portale Fornitori) is performed at the offices of i-Faber S.p.A., the company responsible for the control of supplier-related data. Personal information acquired is processed by authorized personnel who require such information in the performance of their duties (for example, the staff tasked with planning the collection of bulky waste or the staff involved in recruitment).
Personal information may be transmitted to third parties entrusted with the performance of related activities which are instrumental to the processing of the request, as set out in the specific information contained in the menus of this site, and also to public and government officials in accordance with legal requirements.
